How does DUPR impact the event's I enter and can I request to play in a different skill level event?
Requests to play in a lower division (within 0.25 of your current DUPR) will be considered by the tournament director. In the interest of fair play, the Tournament Director will assess players based on past tournament performances. To foster fair placement, players with a DUPR reliability score of 80% or greater will be placed in their correct skill level event.
DUPR transition by PA explained
When entering the QPC, player’s should enter into the skill level event that their current DUPR allows them to enter into; to avoid missing out on an event at the QPC. With 3 months until the QPC (from start of entries until close), a player’s DUPR could move considerably in this time.
During the months leading up to the close of entries for the QPC, player’s should monitor their DUPR and edit their own entry should their DUPR now allow them to enter a different skill level event.
The tournament team will check all players' DUPRS at the switchover from PAA rating to DUPR ratings.
At the close of entries, players will be evaluated again. Any player whose DUPR no longer allows them to be eligible for that event will be moved to the appropriate event by the Tournament Director. This might mean that the player will end up on the waiting list.
How does the waitlist system work?
Singles: players will automatically be allocated a position in the main draw, UNLESS an event is at capacity.
Doubles: players will automatically be allocated a position in the main draw, UNLESS the event is at capacity. If you enter before the event is at capacity, you have 7 days to secure a partner and have your partner also enter the tournament. After 7 days if your partner fails to enter or you do not secure a partner, you will be moved to the waitlist.
Teams who have both players enter the event, will be prioritised over a player who fails to secure a partner and these teams will be moved to the main draw first.
It is the responsibility of the participant to source a partner and have them enter to secure the teams position.
What type of courts are used?
The Morayfield Sports and Event Centre has indoor courts with two different surfaces. Where scheduling allows all events will be played on the below surfaces to provide consistent playing surfaces for players.
5x Aura Pulastic 200 Synthetic Sports Floor (Blue courts) : All Open, Para 70+ and junior events will be scheduled on these courts.
16 x Sprung Timber Courts: All other age events will be scheduled on these courts.
The Tournament Director can change who is playing on which courts.
Will the maximum entries per event increase if there is a high uptake?
The Tournament team's aim is to get as many players as possible to participate in the tournament. However, increasing the maximum capacity per event depends on court availability and the numbers in other events. Register early to prevent disappointment of losing out on the tournament.
