Queensland Pickleball Tour

The Queensland Pickleball Tour (QPT) is a series of tournaments held across Queensland and aims to provide competitive play opportunities for players registered with the Pickleball Association of Australia (PAA). PAQ provides support for these tournaments which are held in a variety of locations across the state each year.

2025 sees events being held in: Gold Coast | Redcliffe | Townsville | Mackay | Yeppoon | Hervey Bay | Bundaberg

Hosting an Event
Expressions of interested to host QPT events for the following year are called for, based on the document below, in the latter part of each year. Successful hosts are advised of their success shortly after the cut-off date.

Event Age & Skill Categories
Each year there are a set of mandatory brackets that all QPT events must include which are the only one that offer QPT points. This year they are singles, gender doubles and mixed doubles in the following age brackets:

Opens, 19+, 35+, 50+, 60+

With the exception of the "Opens" event, each age category will offer a minimum of a “3.49 and below” as well as a “3.5 and above" category”. In some cases, additional age categories and skill brackets may be offered by hosts depending on venue capacities and registrations.

Players QPT Player Points
At each QPT player points are only awarded to the highest skill level for each of the mandatory age brackets. In most cases, except for the "Opens", this will be the 3.5+ bracket. However, for tournaments that attract a large number of higher ranking players, an even higher skill level than 3.5 and above may be created. In this case, the points move to the new highest level. Players wanting to gain points must enter the highest skill level event.

EG: For an event that offers a 4.0 and above skill level:
3.499 and below (No QPT Points), 3.5 - 3.99 (No QPT Points) 4.0 and above (QPT Points)

If there are insufficient entries based on the QPT Tournament Guide, skill levels within some age brackets may be merged. QPT points are still associated with the the highest skill level or only remaining level in each age category.

Participants in singles, doubles and mixed doubles events may accumulate ranking points from each event they play based on their results. You do not need to play with the same doubles partner in each tournament to accrue points, they are awarded to each individual person.

QPT Player points are tallied and updated after each tournament to provide overall standings for the year with winners being announced after the last QPT event for that year. Points are not carried across from year to year.

QPT Tournaments are listed in Pickleballbrackets.com among other Queensland events.
