So WHO IS Six Zero Pickleball?

Six Zero Pickleball, one of the fastest-growing names in international sport, is proud to announce the grand opening of its Global
Headquarters and first retail showroom at 11/2 Main Drive, Bokarina, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, on Saturday, the 23rd of August, 2025.

Founded in late 2022 in a Sunshine Coast garage, the Australian-owned and family-run company has quickly become a global leader in pickleball paddle
technology - now ranked among the top brands worldwide. Its high-performance paddles, apparel, and accessories are sold in over 20 countries, with fans ranging from elite athletes to everyday players of all ages and abilities.

Behind the brand is local husband-and-wife team Dale and Tanya Young, whose backgrounds in engineering and international public health have shaped the company’s ethos: build with purpose, connect through sport, and uplift community wellbeing.

“We’ve experienced vertical growth over the last two and a half years,” said co-founder Dale Young. “We had early success with some innovative
engineering and have quickly grown to a team of 30 and one of the leading pickleball brands globally.”

Grand Opening Celebration – 23rd of August, 2025

To celebrate this milestone, Six Zero Pickleball is inviting the Sunshine Coast community to a launch event at its new headquarters on Saturday, the 23rd of August, from 9:00am to 2:00pm at 11/2 Main Drive, Bokarina.

The celebration will feature:

 Free barista coffee from a local coffee van

 Pickleball demos and mini games

 In-store giveaways and exclusive opening day specials

 Early access to our newest paddle model packed, featuring our latest innovations – available only in-store on opening date! All other customers will
need to wait until mid-September for the official release.

 A chance to meet the founders, learn about paddle innovation, and become part of the growing Six Zero community.

“We wanted the opening to reflect what pickleball is all about - fun, connection, and community,” said Tanya Young. “Whether you’re an
experienced player or completely new to the sport, we’d love you to come down, grab a coffee, have a hit in the demo area, and a first look at what’s
next in pickleball.”

The Story Behind Six-Zero Pickleball

Six Zero Pickleball was founded in November 2022 when Dale Young began playing pickleball to stay fit and connect with his local community. Frustrated by how often his paddles broke and how basic the designs were, he saw an opportunity to build something better.

What began as a backyard hobby quickly escalated. Working from their Sunshine Coast garage, Dale and his father, Bruce, built and tested over 500
prototypes, while his wife, Tanya, a research scientist, stepped in to lead operations and systems.

With backgrounds in international public health - Dale led sanitation projects in Tanzania, and Tanya worked on mosquito-borne disease control across multiple countries, the shift to sports manufacturing might seem surprising. But their motivation was familiar: build something meaningful that connects communities and promotes well-being.

The move to their Sunshine Coast Global Headquarters marks the next chapter in Six Zero Pickleball’s journey, allowing the company to expand its reach and strengthen its position as a leader in the sport - all from the Sunshine Coast. With their headquarters and storefront now open, Six Zero remains dedicated to designing and delivering products that enhance the inclusive and community-driven nature of pickleball.

“What we love most about pickleball is how inclusive it is,” said Tanya. “Grandparents play with grandkids. Players in wheelchairs compete alongside
non-disabled partners. It’s a sport that brings people together, and we’re passionate about building products that support that.”

That’s why Six Zero designs paddles that last. While most paddles on the market need replacing every few months, theirs are built to go the distance. It’s not just about better performance - it’s about respecting players’ investment in the sport and reducing waste.

“From the beginning, we’ve designed and tested everything right here on the Sunshine Coast,” said Dale. “Opening our headquarters here is our way of
saying we’re not just from this region; we’re investing in it for the long term.”

The new headquarters will serve as Six Zero’s R&D hub, fulfilment centre, and flagship retail store. The space reflects the brand’s commitment to innovation, community, and Australian manufacturing excellence.
