Get Your Kids Moving with a $200 Play On! Sports Voucher – Choose and Try Pickleball!

G’day Queensland families! From 4 August 2025, you can apply for a $200 Play On! Sports Voucher to help cover the cost of sport for your kids aged 5 to 17 years. This fantastic initiative makes it easier than ever to get children involved in local clubs and active communities - and there’s no better time to introduce them to the exciting world of pickleball.

Why Pickleball is Perfect for Kids πŸ˜€πŸ™Œ

Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in Australia, and it’s easy to see why. The game combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, but is played on a smaller court with a lightweight paddle and perforated ball.

For kids, this means its:

  •      Easy to learn – simple rules and quick to pick up.
  •      Fun and social – kids can play with friends or family.
  •      Inclusive – suitable for all skill levels and abilities.
  •      Active and healthy – improves hand-eye coordination, fitness, and teamwork.

Introducing children to pickleball now helps build a new generation of players who will keep the sport thriving well into the future. With more juniors on the court, we’ll see stronger clubs, bigger competitions, and a stronger pickleball community across Queensland.

About the Play On! Sports Voucher Program

The Queensland Government’s Play On! Sports Vouchers program helps families by reducing the financial barrier to participation.

  •      Value: Each voucher is worth up to $200. πŸ˜€
  •      Eligibility: Available to Queensland families with children aged 5–17.
  •      Rounds: Vouchers are released twice yearly — covering both summer and winter sports.
  •      Regional access: Extra vouchers are set aside for children in regional and remote areas.
  •      Accessibility: Designed to include kids of all abilities, ensuring sport is for everyone.

These vouchers can be used for memberships, registrations, or participation fees with approved providers, such as your local pickleball club. While they don’t cover equipment or uniforms, they do make joining a club and playing regularly much more affordable.
